Annual General Meeting (Sep 22, 2007)

 

The annual General Meeting was held on Sunday Sep 22, 2007 at Dragon Buffet King Restaurant. The meeting was chaired by Dr. David Zhang. 108 adult members attended the meeting. The following agenda was proceeded.

Christmas Party (December 8th, 2007)

 

Our annual potluck Christmas Party was held on Saturday, December 8th, 2006, 4:30-9:00PM at the Canadian Martyrs Church, 5900 Ingles St. There were over 200 people attended. We celebrated Christmas party with games, prize draw, dance performances, Christmas carols and delicious food. Santa came with gifts to children. Chinese New Year Banquet (February 9, 2008)

 

The CSNS and Hong Kong Canada Business Association will host the Chinese New Year Banquet to welcome the year of The Rat on Saturday, February 9, 2007 at Halifax Marriot harbourfront Hotel. This event is going to be well attended. Guests will include the representatives from the Province of NS and the Halifax Regional Municipality as well as a few MPs and MLAs.

 

Mother¡¯s Day Lunch Party ( May 11th, 2008. Details to be decided)

 

Mother's Day is a holiday honouring mothers, celebrated in many places around the world. Mothers often receive gifts on this day. International Mother's Day is always celebrated on May 11, but in Canada and the United States we pay tribute to our mothers on the second Sunday in May.

 

We usually have some games. Prizes and gifts will be drawn for all attendees.

Please be kindly advised, this event is only open to all the good-standing members of the year 2006 ¨C 07. For those who forgot to pay their membership fees, they still can remit their fees any time before the event or on the spot. The Society Payment Record Sheet will be checked against attendees at the site. New members are always welcome to join the Society before participating in the Society¡¯s activities.

 

2008 HRM Multicultural Festival (date and details to be announced)

 

Location: Dartmouth Waterfront, Nova Scotia.

CSNS will have a cultural booth and cultural performances during the festival.

All members are encouraged to go. A certain admission fee will be collected by the festival organizer.

 

The Annual Manulife Dragon Boat Festival (Sat. Jul. 12, 2008)

 

Location: Lake Banook, Dartmouth

CSNS will most likely have a team to join the boat competition and dragon dance performance (to be confirmed).

All members are encouraged to go to watch. No admission fee is required.

 

The dates of the above two events might be changed due to weather. The Society will post the notice as soon as receiving information from the organizers.
