Vacancies on the Society Board of Directors (June 15, 2007)

Please be advised that two current Directors will be retiring at the end of the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) in September and therefore two vacancies on the Board are available. The Board is hereby asking members to submit nominations for the positions. According to the By-Laws of the Society, a nominee must be a Society member in good standing for at least two consecutive years and preferably has served as an officer of the Society. If elected at the AGM, the nominee must be willing to serve as a Director for a term of three years.

In general, the function of the Board is to formulate policies and future directions of the Society. In the three years of its existence, the Board has formulated five policies and made three recommendations on behalf of the Society. The Board works very closely with the Executive Committee through the President of the Society. Please submit your nominations to the Board Secretary at the above email address. Before sending in the nomination, the consent of the nominee must first be sought. The deadline for submission is two weeks prior to the AGM, the exact date of which will be announced by the Executive Committee. Final voting will be held at the AGM by the General Membership.
